1. About the Museum

The Sao Paulo Football Museum was conceived to be a sequence of ludic experiences, all of them relating sports and Brazilian life during 20th century. The pillars on which the project was thought – architecture, content and museography – were integrated in order to make the visitors notice three concepts that give the tour a direction: emotion, history, fun.

Built on a 6,900 m2 area, it preserves in its original forms an impressive public cultural heritage, which reveals Pacaembu’s original architectural project. It shows the structures of the stadium, its insides and reverses. Each room leaves clear the concrete-built ceiling structure – which are in fact the stands of the stadium! -, and also shows the content in the museum, through the zigzag form of the stands.
